On 24th September 2018 another new website was launched.
This one is based on a brand new Joomla! template designed entirely from scratch by Business Pluspoint and using the latest Bootstrap 4x code and a large amount of custom css.
The original website (shown here) for the parishes of Bucklebury and Marlston, Bradfield and Stanford Dingley – known as 2BSD – in West Berkshire, was very difficult to view on a smartphone and didn't look much better on a desktop. It did its job, though, of informing local parishioners of what was happening in the parishes and their churches, but not in a very user-friendly way.
Business Pluspoint had already designed a website for one of the parishes, Bradfield, so we were already known to 2BSD. After a thorough consultation and discussions via email and telephone, a design was agreed upon for the look and feel of the new site – in this case, simple and uncluttered with minimal colours – and a total re-order of the site's pages.
Where appropriate, text and images from existing articles and pages were copied and re-used, but the bulk of the content was thoroughly refreshed by the client.
The site is now totally mobile-friendly, easy to follow and navigate, and even comes with its own custom menu icons, designed by Business Pluspoint.
After only a brief telephone and email tutorial, and with the assistance of online guides, the client is able to log in via the front end and update or add content as required.
On going live our client wrote: "Thankyou so much for getting this all sorted for this weekend. It looks great, and will be such a blessing to our parishes to have a useable website."
Why not visit https://www.2bsd.org.uk and see for yourself?
Business Pluspoint's own website is now also using this template and we are currently working on updating AWB's website. This will also use the new template but its own customised CSS styling to match the their current site.
